Abstract :
P. hysterophorus is a well known weed with numerous harmful effects. During the present work, aqueous leaf extract of A. scholaris was found allelopathic to the seeds and various parts of seedlings of the P. hysterophorus in laboratory conditions. The allelopathic leaf extract was also found effective against the biological pigments like Chlorophyll a and b followed by protein. Various biochemical tests were performed for the presence of alcohols, aldehydes and ketones were confirmed in the aqueous allelopathic leaf extract.
